Description
We are currently looking for a Specialist Registrar A+E to relocate to the beautiful city of Belfast and the surrounding areas.
Skills/Experience:
- IELTS (UKVI/Academy) level 7.5
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- MBBS/MBChB (or equivalent)
- Full/Part MCEM / MRCEM (UK)
- Other higher qualifications MRCP / MRCS desirable but not essential
- Minimum 4 years full time post graduate experience
- Minimum 12 months emergency medicine experience
- Ability to take full responsibility for the clinical care of patients
- ATLS+ALS or PALS certification
- Proven experience in undertaking clinical audit and governance
- Experience of supervising junior medical staff
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and staff
Duties/Responsibilities:
- To prove of a first class clinical service to all patients
- Provide high quality care to patients, especially primary diagnosis and initiating emergency treatment
- The clinical duties include all those that are normally expected in any major Emergency Department in the UK. Duties will include daytime, evening, night and weekend shifts - Participation in 24/7 shift rota
- Hands-on involvement with the medical take, ensuring the timely development of appropriate management plans for patients.
- Provide clinical leadership within the department, as well as specialist emergency medicine expertise
- Supervision and co-ordination of junior doctors within the unit
- Helping to maintain multi-professional systems of care for common condition
- Teaching and training of medical and nursing staff, both informal and formal
- Provide sufficient information to colleagues during handover to ensure consistency of care
- To work towards and comply with National emergency medicine targets
- To perform ad hoc duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the Consultant
