Job Summary
Consultant in Internal Medicine will be expected to examine patients to ensure proper medical care and disease prevention. Provides non-surgical treatment mainly for patients who have a wide range of problems associated with the internal organs.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provides adequate and competent delivery of quality health care to patients
- with long and short-term comprehensive care in management of all type of non surgical illnesses.
- Skilled in disease prevention and managing complex disorders of the body.
- Uses a variety of diagnostic techniques to treat patients through medication or
- hospitalization.
- Skilled in disease prevention and managing complex disorders of the body.
- Interprets basic diagnostic laboratory, radiology results, electrocardiographs and chest radiographs.
- Records all data of the patient’s care in the patient’s medical record in accordance with the acceptable international standards and medical centre’s regulations.
- Performs collaborative assistance in referrals of patients to sub-specialty Consultants and to appropriate facilities for further management.
- Responsible for smooth running of assigned clinic.
- Represent the medical centre in the Committee for related seminars and symposia.
- Actively participates in any training program or education activity organized within the medical centre for training staff and in-service training classes for the nursing staff.
- Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education/Licensure:
Graduate from a recognized medical school with MD or MBBCh or its international equivalent.
Western certificates such as American Board, Canadian, UK Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent such as Arab Board/Indian Board.
Professional Experience
- Five years related experience after post graduation.
Specialised Knowledge
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English language both verbal and written.
- Knowledge in Arabic language is an advantage.
