Consultant Ophthalmologist required for private hospital in Dubai.

Job Summary

The Consultant Ophthalmologist is responsible for the Medical care of assigned patients.  He/she serves in a consultative manner as required in the Ophthalmology cases as well as performing surgical procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

-          Establish and maintain professional standards for quality patient care.

-          Perform investigations and management of patients with diseases, disorders and injuries, such as Myopia, Hyperopia, Astigmatism, Glaucoma, Cataracts and other problems related to the eye.

-          Provide particular expertise in performing Excimer Laser and LASIK procedures.

-          Be able to perform surgical procedures for related eye problems.

-          Responsible for the smooth running of his/her assigned clinic.

-          Record all data of the patients’ care in the patients’ medical record in accordance with the acceptable international standards and Medical centers regulations.

-          Represent the Medical Center in the Committee for Ophthalmology related seminars and symposia.

-          Actively participates in any training program or education activity related to Ophthalmology and organized within the Medical Center for the training staff and in-service training classes for the nursing staff.

-          Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realms of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education/License:

-          Graduate from a recognized medical school with MD or MBBCh or its international equivalent.

-          Western certificates such as American Board, Canadian, UK Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent in Ophthalmology as per the Saudi Council regulations.

Qualifications

-          Candidates must be registered medical practitioners and must have received suitable training for this post as outlined above.  Candidates must be on the specialist register or equivalent

-          Graduate from a recognized medical school with a MBBS or its international equivalent.

-          Western certificates such as American Board, Canadian, UK Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent.

Professional Experience

  • Seven years related experience after post graduation in Ophthalmology.

Condition

Specialised Knowledge

-          Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.

-          Ability to communicate effectively in English language both verbal and written.

-          Knowledge in Arabic language is an advantage.
